Big Biology Days are a one-day science festival, bringing together a variety of biological organisations under one roof to celebrate the life sciences by engaging the general public with an array of hands-on activities, displays and talks.

Usually held in a local school during a weekend or school holiday, Big Biology Days transform school halls and corridors into festival stands with hands on activities, games, crafts, talks, and other fun and engaging activities that highlight and get people talking about science.

The Royal Society of Biology East Anglia branch devised and ran the first ever Big Biology Day, and they have evolved to be bigger and better every year. These are becoming a more and more popular option for those wanting to get involved in outreach as an opportunity to share their passion for biology and the natural world, regardless of scientific background.

Big Biology Day Hull

A free event at Wilberforce Sixth Form College; a hub of educational excellence in the heart of the east Hull community.

There will be talks and workshops from College staff, distinguished academics from Hull University and scientists from local employers and organisations. You can also find out about science-related career pathways such as in radiology and haematology, within the NHS.

Big Biology Day Birmingham 

October 2020 (date TBC) | Aston University, Aston Triangle, Birmingham B4 7ET

A free event to experience biology and immunology through hands-on activities and direct engagement with scientists currently working at Aston University.

This event is designed to foster interest in biology in general and immunology in particular, at an especially important time for young people as they select their GCSE and A levels subjects.

This event has been funded by the Big Biology Day grant scheme.
